Held every year from February to March, when the entirety of Lake Akan is covered in ice, this event has plenty for both adults and children to enjoy. Entry is free, and food and drink booths offer favorites such as Amazake(a sweet, low or non-alcoholic type of sake that even children can drink), hot milk and Wakasagi smelt tempura. Traditional Ainu dances on a stage made of snow make the fireworks held at 8:10pm every day of the event even more exciting.
